Marilyn Phillips, a specialist Freelance Partner, has over 30 years of US and international marketing and market research experience. She has a depth of US experience in fast-moving consumer goods including candy, snacks, cereals, dairy, frozen foods, household products, and pet foods. She has led strategic retailer-focused research initiatives in mobile service (TracFone) and strategic programs for Walmart and Sam’s Club for P&G. Her international market research experience spans qualitative and quantitative studies in developing economies in Macedonia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Republic of Georgia, and Afghanistan on behalf of US/AID.
Marilyn has led qualitative research initiatives in a wide variety of categories, spanning digital and at-shelf packaging design research, retailer shopalongs, new product ideation, and communication testing. She has led major strategic quantitative research studies (foundational attitude segmentation, new product concept testing, brand equity research) in mobile service, dairy products, pet foods, and candy. Her passion is to transform research into commercialized insights that build brands and businesses.
Marilyn’s career spans stints in market research and account management in large international advertising agencies (Grey, BBDO) as well as brand management and new product leadership positions at Alpo Pet Foods, Mars, Inc. (US and Italy), and Land O’Lakes. She has a depth of shopper marketing experience from nearly 10 years in strategy and planning roles at Baker Design, Saatchi & Saatchi X, and the MARS Agency.
